BluWave-ai Strengthens its Leadership Team at the Board and Management Tables

BluWave-ai, a cleantech software company developing and implementing AI-based energy prediction and optimization solutions, today announced two changes to its leadership team. Dr. Mostafa Farrokhabadi, formerly the company's Senior Director of Technology, moves into the new role of Vice President of Technology. At the same time, the company welcomes Dr. Pierre Rivard, Executive Chairman of TUGLIQ Energy Co. and Council Member at the National Research Council Canada to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Mostafa Farrokhabadi devised BluWave-ai’s technology roadmap and is the principal architect of the company products, now deployed on three continents. He designed BluWave-ai’s inaugural revenue-generating one, the first-ever AI-enabled optimal energy scheduling system at a Canadian utility. Mostafa is also the lead inventor in the company and responsible for driving its prolific patent portfolio with one granted USPTO and seven active applications.
In addition, Mostafa has long been an active member of the IEEE, with multiple distinguished roles including the Associate Editor of the high-profile journal, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid. In his new role as Vice President of Technology, Mostafa’s responsibilities expand to include key decisions pertaining to BluWave-ai’s vision and ensuring that the company’s technological resources are aligned with market needs.

Dr. Pierre Rivard brings expertise as an entrepreneur and passionate supporter of the clean energy industry to BluWave-ai's Board of Directors. He has served as CEO, co-founder, chairman, board member, angel investor, advisor, and philanthropist for several innovative companies in California and Canada, from hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysers to energy storage, wind, flywheels, electric vehicles, aerospace, waste management, and water treatment. He has also chaired national and regional industry and research associations. More recently, Pierre served on Canada's Clean Technology Economic Strategy Table.
On the business front, Pierre's successes include the launch and IPO on NASDAQ of hydrogen fuel cell company Hydrogenics (HYGS), where he served 12 years as founding President & CEO and later as Executive Chairman. Currently, Pierre serves as Executive Chairman and is Co-Founder of TUGLIQ Energy Co., dedicated to the energy diversification of northern mining sites through renewable energy.
Pierre's academic credentials include a PhD in Engineering from the University of Toronto (Honoris Causa, for lifetime achievements in clean technology), an MBA from the Western University (London, Ontario), and a Baccalaureate in Mechanical Engineering from Kingston's Royal Military College of Canada.

Pierre joins fellow directors Mario Montana (recently retired from Integrated Device Technology (IDT), acquired by Renesas) and Reshmi Paul (Partner, ghSMART). Dr. Claudio Cañizares (University of Waterloo) also serves as an Advisor to the Board.
