BluWave-ai Selected as Finalist for Global Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Award 2020

Canadian company named to the top 15 from 600 clean energy applicants globally, and will pitch at the Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Tech Festival, March 24, 2020 in Berlin

Ottawa, Canada  –  February 20, 2020.

BluWave-ai has been selected by the Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Award 2020 as one of only 15 finalists from start-up companies in 11 countries across 5 continents. With submissions that include portable battery systems, cross-industry storage systems, software for inspecting power lines, cleaning methods for air conditioning systems and retrofit solutions for buildings, the finalists impressed with outstanding ideas that help reduce the ecological footprint of modern societies, advance climate protection, and make an active contribution to accelerate energy transition.

The BluWave-ai submission was unique, as the only company to offer a distributed, AI-enabled platform optimizing multiple renewable and non-renewable energy sources in real-time, minimizing cost and maximizing availability and reliability. Last year BluWave-ai was honored to be named to SET's top 100. This year's top 15 nomination, in a larger, more competitive field, validates the timeliness of the BluWave-ai technology and the continued achievements and performance of the company.

The award is presented by the German Energy-Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council. From almost 600 applications, an international jury selected the companies whose business ideas were most convincing in terms of energy system transformation and climate protection. The finalists will present their innovations in a live pitch at the SET Tech Festival in Berlin, an international event for start-ups, the energy industry and investors.

The ceremony for the SET Award winners will take place on March 24 at an evening reception of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue. The award will go to the most innovative strategy and solution in each of the five categories: Renewable Energies and Materials, Digital Energy Systems (where BluWave-ai is competing), Energy Efficiency Solutions, Smart Mobility, and Special Prize: Quality Access & Sustainable Development Goal
