Price, Peak & GA Predictors: Our Price Predictor uses real-time electricity market and grid supply and demand data to provide localized energy pricing predictions. The Peak Predictor uses sophisticated AI models to forecast periods of high demand on the grid when electricity prices surge, leading to higher costs for consumers. By predicting these critical peaks, large energy consumers can strategically reduce their energy consumption and optimize their operations, avoiding costly charges associated with peak electricity usage.
In Ontario, Canada, Global Adjustment (GA) charges are a significant portion of electricity costs for users that participate in pricing plans for large energy consumers. These costs are determined based on a consumer’s share of the Ontario-wide demand during a number of periods over a year where the Ontario demand is the highest (coincident peaks) and can represent a significant charge for consumers that use more energy in those periods. Our GA Predictor provides an indication of a likely GA coincident peak so that users can lower their energy demand for that period as a priority. It is adaptable to other jurisdictions and energy markets that use similar schemes.
