BluWave-ai Featured in the Top 20 Canadian National Ventures at NACO Moonshot Showcase 2025

Selected from the Breadth of Canadian Private Companies Innovating with Funding Originally from Canadian Angel Investors

OTTAWA, Canada – May 26, 2025

BluWave-ai was featured as one of Canada’s Top 20 Moonshot Ventures™ for 2025 by the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). These ventures were selected for embodying emerging leadership with bold ideas for societal transformation of the economy, both domestically and internationally, representing the future of Canadian innovation.

BluWave-ai, as one of the world’s top private companies in tech, already with several previous international awards, was selected by NACO for the company’s work at the convergence of AI and cleantech which are fields leading the global energy transition.

“BluWave-ai is a shining example of the Nation of Builders we’re cultivating in Canada –ambitious founders creating frontier technologies with global relevance,” said Claudio Rojas, CEO of NACO, “Their selection as a NACO Moonshots Venture underscores our belief that Canadian-led innovation can power a more self-reliant, resilient, and prosperous future.”

Collectively, the selected Moonshots companies have raised over $190 million to date, driving breakthroughs in AI, cleantech, healthtech, space, deeptech, consumer products, and more. Founders hailed from across the country, with companies based in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia. The 2025 cohort includes founders from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and regions reflecting the inclusive strength and geographic breadth of Canada’s innovation economy.

NACO invited its 100 member organizations – the leading angel groups, incubators, accelerators and early-stage venture capital funds in Canada – to each nominate one high-potential company. From this curated pool, ventures were selected through a rigorous, member-driven process by NACO’s investment committee to take the Moonshots Stage™ at a NACO showcase held at the National Arts Centre during NACO Summit 2025.

“Capital Angel Network private investors seek out the most dynamic impact oriented Canadian founders, with a home base sweet spot in the National Capital Region. Early-stage investment, mentorship and personal industry networks are critical to getting high potential growth startups initial lift off from idea and team to first customers and product,” said Suzanne Grant CD, Executive Director of the Capital Angels Network, “We began supporting BluWave-ai during their oversubscribed $1.3M Pre Seed Round in 2019. Several of our investors came back in 2022 for BluWave-ai’s $9.5M Series A round to help scale their (now successful) international deployments. We continue to support through their Series B where we can, including nominating them for NACO Summit Moonshots. This is a true Team Canada success launched by Angel investors with an envisioned founder demonstrating execution and worldly prowess.”

“Before AI was the big topic in the media, BluWave-ai realized the most sensored system in the world is electricity grids with a gold mine of data for decarbonizing and reducing costs of the energy industry,” said Devashish Paul, CEO and Founder of BluWave-ai, “Now with electrified transport becoming over 25% of global auto sales, the world of transport is connecting to the grid creating a larger management, and computing problem that is an over $10B opportunity for software companies to manage. This is why we are building out BluWave-ai and are excited that NACO selected us as a Moonshot recipient recognizing the engineering innovation that goes into building this infrastructure back-end for the Canadian energy and transport economy.”

BluWave-ai brings its suite of 36 Patents filled of which 26 are Pending and 10 are granted, embedded in three key product lines to enable grid-scale battery deployments deployed on 4 continents with multi-million dollar revenue streams. BluWave-ai has an 8-year system of global data that is AI ready with over 18 billion records from electricity grids, transport networks, weather feeds and forecasts that its customers benefit from
